SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 18 March 2008 – Reaffirming its commitment to local research & development and providing the best working environment in Australia, Google announced today that it will be moving into a new Australian headquarters in 2009.
The new headquarters, in the under-construction Workplace6 in Pyrmont, will be a campus-style and world-class work environment for Australian "Googlers". Workplace6 is NSW’s first 6 Star Green Star building, going above and beyond green office standards for Australia.
Already well known for its innovative office culture*, from free gourmet cafes to 20% time for engineers, Google’s new Australian headquarters will enable Google’s Australian teams to work in a dynamic and collegiate environment.

Google has invested substantially in its local engineering team in Sydney, which works on Google’s popular global products.
