Google is continually iterating its products, and today, we’re enhancing our users’ experience of Google Maps by releasing new street maps of Australia and a search feature for major Australian cities on maps.google.com/maps.
These enhancements serve as an initial step in bringing Australian data to Google Maps. We continue to make strides on our development of Google Maps for Australia, but we don’t have anything further to announce at this time.
With this enhancement, developers in Australia can also begin using the Google Maps API to integrate the product with their website. More information about the Google Maps API can be found at www.google.com/apis/maps/.
